LICENSING AND REGISTRATION

As a Canadian student nurse, we recommend that upon completion of your nursing program, you pass the National Council Licensure Examination – Registered Nurse (NCLEX-RN) or the Registered Psychiatric Nurses of Canada Exam (RPNCE) and obtain registration with BCCNM.

If you are graduating from a recognized nursing program in Canada, you should be eligible for provisional registration with BCCNM. This would allow you to work as a Provisional RN while waiting to write and pass the NCLEX or RPNCE.

LOAN FORGIVENESS PROGRAM

Recent graduates may also be eligible to have their BC student loans forgiven by working at publicly-funded facilities in under-served communities in BC, or working with children in occupations where there is an identified shortage in BC.

The Government of Canada also offers Canada Student Loan forgiveness to nurses who work in under-served rural or remote communities.

For more information on obtaining licensure as new nurse graduate or on the loan forgiveness programs, register with us and speak to our nursing recruitment services team.
