In the Hospitalist position, you will be part of our talented group of 15 dedicated and collegial professionals providing the most up to date, comprehensive, quality patient centered care. Our team of hospitalists’ work in the acute inpatient medicine setting and function in a MRP (most responsible physician) role for complex medical and co-management of surgical patients, as well as palliative care. Working throughout the hospital, except in the ICU, we enjoy excellent support from our specialist and ICU colleagues.
Working 8 hours a day we see an average of 12-16 inpatients per shift. Participation in the after-hours call is mandatory.
Our program is involved with the UBC-Okanagan medical undergraduate program, and the family medicine residency program, which both include rotations with the Hospitalist team. Other teaching opportunities are available on-site (i.e. tutoring, clinical teaching) if desired on your off days. Committee and quality improvement work is optional and encouraged.

- $292,629 annual max for full-time (1680 hours) on BC hourly rate of $174.18, plus MOCAP level 2 & incentives as indicated below.

Rural Incentives include:
Recruitment bonus: $15,000
Relocation: $9,000 - $15,000 based on move location
Fee Premium: 11.20%
Annual Retention: $12,892.00
Rural CME: Up to 2 years $600; In 3rd & 4th year $3.600; after 4 years $6,600
Rural incentives are subject to change and current rates are confirmed at time of offer.
Candidates with a BC or Canada student loan may be eligible for loan forgiveness programs.
