Position Summary
Interior Health’s Queen Victoria Hospital (QVH) invites applications for the casual role of Registered Nurse (RN), Operating Room. QVH is looking for knowledgeable Perioperative prepared RNs.
As a member of the QVH Operating Room team, you will act for a rural and remote site. OR Registered Nurses are required to be on call for ER Trauma in addition to an OR specific role. You are required to provide direct patient care to Emergency Room and peri-anesthesia patients and maintain the standards.
Casual employment means work requirements can vary between Zero and 37.5 hours per week. Shifts, when available, are scheduled during Monday to Friday. This position requires the availability to be on-call and to be onsite within 30 minutes.
Shift types are days, evenings, and nights. Shift times are 07:00 to 15:00, 08:30 to 16:30. Days of work include Monday to Thursday, plus on call for OR & ER Traumas.

Qualifications
• Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
• Current CPR certification required.
• Advanced preparation in the clinical specialty of the assigned area (perioperative nursing) and one year recent related clinical experience in the assigned practice environment on an operating room similar in size and scope to the facility or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Note: Sites requiring competency in Emergency Room, Perianesthesia and Medical Device Reprocessing functions may also require NRP, TNCC and ACLS certificates.
