Role and Facility Information

Within the context of a patent and family-centered model of care, and in accordance with the Mission, Vision, Values and strategic directions of Providence Health Care (“Providence”), we are seeking a qualified plastic surgeon comfortable with general plastic surgery trauma and reconstruction to join an existing group plastic surgery clinical service contract. The services will be primarily provided at St. Paul’s Hospital, Vancouver General Hospital and UBC Hospital. Together with the University of British Columbia Division of Plastic Surgery and the University of British Columbia Department of Surgery, the plastic surgeon will be involved in undergraduate, post-graduate and continuing medical education programs.

Available resources include access to the main Operating Room, Minor Treatment Room, and a hospital-based clinic.

Applicants must be certified in Plastic Surgery by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons (Canada), and be eligible for licensure by the BC College of Physicians and Surgeons. Training and/or experience in surgical and non-surgical treatment of facial nerve palsy, facial re-animation will be an asset.

The successful applicant must qualify for and will be recommended for a Clinical Faculty Position in the University of British Columbia, Department of Surgery. They will be expected to be involved in clinical teaching at all levels and research.
