Position Summary
We are currently seeking a permanent full-time Registered Nurse (RN) or Registered Psychiatric Nurse (RPN) to join our team at Dr. Andrews Pavilion in Summerland, B.C.!

What will you work on?
The RN or RPN practices in a variety of clinical settings and is responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of individual care. Working in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, the RN or RPN ensures the delivery of individual–centered care by assisting individual and their families respond to changing health care needs. The RN or RPN demonstrates a specialized body of knowledge and bases practice on nursing science and related content from other sciences and humanities.
Shifts of work are days and nights; rotating shifts times are from 07:00 to 19:00 and 19:00 to 07:00.

In Long Term Care you develop relationships with your patients and their families as you work with the same patients each day for an extended period of time. It is up to the nurse to educate, guide and comfort patients and their families during their time in your care.
Long term care offers a variety of opportunities to work autonomously while part of a team; there are opportunities to advance into leadership, become a professional practice lead or work your passion in long term care with enhanced skills and knowledge
About this location/unit
Dr. Andrew Pavillion, located in Summerland, embodies resident-centred philosophy designed to support residents’ choices, help people function at their highest level and provide the best quality of life possible. It is a one-storey, non-profit seniors care home with 50 private, semi-private and four-bed rooms with ensuite washrooms.

Qualifications
• Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
• Post - basic education in gerontology an asset.
