Hospital Medicine Physician

Delta Hospital (DH) is seeking qualified physicians to join our Hospitalist program in a permanent part time/fulltime or temporary/locum capacity. Applicants should have a strong interest in developing an acute care hospital practice and working collaboratively with all members of the inter-professional team, including medical staff, Nurse Practitioners, and Allied Health staff.

Primary responsibilities include admission and management of acute medical patients as the Most Responsible Physician (MRP). This job requires superior clinical and communication skills, along with exceptional bedside manner. Our team members must demonstrate a commitment to the evolving specialty of hospital medicine. Experience at Delta Hospital is an asset.

The Hospitalist program at Delta Hospital provides 24-hr coverage, 10 hours on site, and 14 hours of rotational call with MOCAP pay. The average patient census is 58 – 68, with four hospitalists covering each day in ER and the wards.

Eligibility: Candidates must be licensed or (eligible for licensure) with College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia (CPSBC) and have either CCFP (or equivalent) credentials. Certification in ACLS is preferred. Hospitalist experience is strongly suggested.

Compensation: per physician master agreement. Full-time work is considered 14 days per month, Part-time work is anticipated to be minimally 50% of those hours, with option for additional shifts. Locum coverage is considered to be any fill in shifts.
