Role and Facility Information
We are a group of family physicians and allied health practitioners looking to add one or two family doctors to our dynamic team. Our vision is to create a patient-centered clinic that also supports physician well-being and thriving. We want to create real partnerships with patients and to explore innovative models of care, including virtual care, and group visits/workshops.
We have recently relocated our clinic into a stunning, custom designed and renovated clinical space, with an emphasis on incorporating nature-inspired features, natural light, local art as well as new and modern clinic equipment and technology. We also have a garden and outdoor seating area for physicians, staff and patients to enjoy.
We aim to leverage technology to streamline our workflows and to create office efficiencies to keep overhead low. We also intend to incorporate virtual visits permanently into our practices. Each of our physicians will work from home one day each week, at a minimum.
We use a modern EMR, Inputhealth, which easily allows for this vision by integrating video visits, online booking, and automated appointment reminders within the EMR system. Additional features such as customizable encounter templates and virtual patient questionnaires further reduce administration and charting time and improve patient experience.
We are active members of our community's growing patient care network (PCN), and have incorporated allied health members into our team, including a social worker, mental health clinician, pharmacist, and dietician, and we will be incorporating an RN in the coming months. We are the first group in our area to sign on to a group contract, and we are enthusiastic about the potential for these new financial models to enable better patient care, while supporting physician well being. We consider quality improvement to be an integral part of our clinic's practice.
Given the attachment crisis in our community, and across the province, we are prioritizing bringing on physicians who are able to attach new patients and build a practice.
Status: Part-Time, 1-2 physicians - New practice opportunity
Community Information
The Comox Valley is one of the fastest growing communities in BC, and with good reason. We have all the amenities, business and conveniences of a larger centre, but with the perks - community feel, lack of traffic, free parking! - of a smaller town.
This region has endless opportunities for outdoor exploration and recreation, and boasts truly incredible natural beauty, to be enjoyed all year long.
The rapid growth of this area brings with it a real vitality, as well as an ever growing list of progressive businesses, such as craft breweries, boutiques, restaurants, allied health clinics and more.
