Position Summary

We are looking for a patient focused team player to fill a permanent full time Clinical Practice Educator opportunity that we have within our team here in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops.

As the Clinical Practice Educator (CPE) you will provide leadership in the delivery of nursing education and instruction to staff and patients based on adult education principles and philosophy within a specific clinical specialty or patient population. You will apply nursing theory, advanced knowledge and leadership concepts in providing clinical guidance and resource support to staff. Responsibilities include assisting the Manager in establishing and maintaining standards of care and in providing and participating in continuous quality improvement environment. Further, you will provide guidance and support to staff in the application of the nursing process in the provision of patient care.

With eight Level 2B beds, the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) is a major referral centre for Interior Health. The unit cares for neonates born at 30 weeks or over with BC Women’s & Children’s Hospital as our tertiary referral centre in Vancouver. NRP is mandatory and supplied, and post grad neonatal coursework and/or experience is welcomed.
