Northern Health is seeking a General Surgeon to be part of a team to expand Surgical and Trauma services in the community of Fort St John and serving the North East Region of British Columbia. Fort St John Hospital is a state-of-the-art 55-bed facility in which Northern Health has embarked on a 3-year plan to expand specialist services in Internal Medicine, Orthopedics and General Surgery, with a goal to expand the scope of practice possible in the region.
Fort St John a vibrant Northern city with a young and growing population! Fort St John Hospital offers a full range of services including diagnostics, surgery, orthopedics, acute care, internal medicine, oncology, ICU, maternity, palliative care, and extended care with additional services such as cardiac care, rehabilitation and hemodialysis. The population of Fort St John is approximately 23,000 with a catchment area of approximately 70,000. The ER has 25,000+ visits per year.

Fort St. John is known as “The Energetic City” and is located at Mile 47 of the world famous Alaska Highway!
