Child Health BC is seeking a Provincial Medical Director (PMD) to provide both strategic and clinical leadership to the Health Improvement Network with specific focus on quality, access, research, academics, innovation and health system advancement.

As the PMD, you will act as the primary clinical strategic advisor to the Executive Director and as a member of the CHBC leadership team – informing the development and execution of CHBC strategies and annual operational plans. You will also be responsible to provide active input into annual prioritization decisions. The PMD will work closely with the CHBC Leadership Team to develop and support an overall quality framework and performance measurement strategy. The PMD will play a key role in leading systems and enriching a culture that promotes continuous improvement and pursuit of program excellence, applying current research evidence and best practice standards.

As the successful candidate for this position, you will have demonstrated a commitment to academic and clinical excellence as well as patient and family centered care. You will have passed or be eligible for membership with Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC) or the Canadian College of Family Physicians (CCFP) and the College of Physician and Surgeons of British Columbia (CPSBC). The successful candidate will have a demonstrated ability to work successfully in a multidisciplinary team environment and will demonstrate a trauma informed approach in their clinical work and professional relationships. Excellent communication skills and experience working with substance using youth and pregnant people and required.
