WHAT YOU’LL DO:
Participate in a new model of care, comprising a ward rounding service (0700-1700), day ward and ER consult service (0700-1700), and night ward and ER consult service (1700-0700), with other internists, according to a schedule. The rounding service is expected to have a patient cap.
The need is primarily for an internist without sub-specialty.
WHO YOU ARE:
• Licensed to practice medicine from the College of Physicians and Surgeons of BC.
• Active fellowship in Internal Medicine from the Royal College of Physicians of Canada.
• Passionate: Passionate about patient welfare you understand the importance of delivering high quality care in the context of complex health care systems.
• A Strong Communicator: Understanding the importance of continuous and effective communication, you are highly skilled at listening, engaging and consulting with diverse stakeholders including patients, internal and external healthcare professionals and caseworker teams.
• A Leader: have the ability to pull together the appropriate data and resources to make sound decisions that are based on fact and supported rationale. The common sense and good judgement to ‘make the call’ or understand the risks associated with certain decisions and able to work well under pressure.
