Position Summary
The assigned clinical area for this position is Out-Patient Cardiac Services which include Diagnostic Cardiology and Cardiac Catheterization.

Kelowna is home to the Interior Heart and Surgical Centre (IHSC) at Kelowna General Hospital and the Regional Cardiac Revascularization Program that provides residents of the British Columbia Interior with the cardiac care they need, right here in the heart of the Okanagan Valley. This is a relief part time (0.64FTE) position until December 30, 2022 or return of incumbent. This position works Monday to Friday day and evening shifts (07:00-17:00, 08:00-18:00). This position requires some on-call shifts from 18:00-0700 and the successful applicant must live within 30 minutes of Kelowna General Hospital.
You will practice in a variety of clinical settings and are responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of client care. Working in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, you will ensure the delivery of client–centered care by assisting individual clients and their families respond to changing health care needs. As the successful candidate, you will demonstrate a specialized body of knowledge and base your practice on nursing science and related content from other sciences and humanities.

Qualifications
• Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
• Advanced preparation in the Critical Care specialty area, one year recent related clinical experience in the assigned practice environment (such as CSICU, CCU, Cardiac Diagnostic Procedures or Cardiac Catheterization Lab) on a unit similar in size and scope to the facility, and as required by the practice environment successful completion of the recognized KGH Cardiac Course (such as Cardiac Surgery Advanced Theory or CCU); or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
