Role and Facility Information

This is a full time established practice in a well-equipped 12 doctor clinic. It is located on the mainland 120 km northwest of Vancouver. The community offers many activities for the outdoor enthusiasts with many, parks, beaches, lakes and hiking and mountain bike trails, there is also a local Academy of Music and outstanding cultural and recreational facilities.

Thanks to one of the mildest climates in Canada, gardening, golfing and fishing are year-round activities in Powell River. Add in a thriving arts and cultural community, and spectacular West Coast scenery, and you’ll see why those who visit want to stay! Powell River is just 134 km northwest of Vancouver and accessible by car and ferry (five hours) and air (half an hour).

Forestry, tourism and fishing are the major industries. The town is large enough to offer every amenity to its 20,000 inhabitants, but small enough to maintain a friendly community ambiance. Residents enjoy world-class fishing, hiking, diving, canoeing, sailing, walking and kayaking.

On-call: Weekend call is 1 shift per 10 week rotation

*March 21st – 25th

*March 28th – April 1st

*June 13th – June 17th

*July 11th – July 15th

*September 19th – September 30th

As a large clinic with 12 doctors, we are happy to consider any time period a potential locum physician may have to offer throughout the year.
