Fraser Health is going virtual to create real improvements to patient care!

The Virtual Hospital program is a new and innovative way of delivering Mental Health and Substance Use acute care to our clients in the Fraser Health Region. This is an exciting program where you will be working in a team-based, inter-professional care environment. Care is provided to acute patients in patient's home and virtually.

As a qualified or eligible Psychiatrist, you are required to provide a high standard of care to adult patients served by Fraser Health as part of an interdisciplinary team. This position includes consulting at the new virtual hospital, active outreach to patients’ residence, consulting to Assisted Living and long-term care facilities in a collaborative model with the patients attending physicians and doing consultation liaison within MHSU.

Services include assessment, outpatient treatment and consultation, family meetings, case conferences, discharge planning, teaching psychiatry residents and medical students.

The psychiatrist will also promote continuity of care by maintaining good working relationships with all those providing care and services and advocating for the psychiatric needs of individual patients.
