Do you have a passion for nursing? Are you a Registered Nurse/Registered Psychiatric Nurse with training and experience in Mental Health and Substance Use? We are seeking a motivated Registered Nurse/Registered Psychiatric Nurse with a real dedication for delivering compassionate care to join our Adult Services at Timber Creek in Surrey, BC.

BUILD ON YOUR CAREER EXPERIENCE BY:
- Coordinating and providing the delivery of psychiatric nursing care services to patients experiencing mental health and bio-psychosocial challenges

- Working collaboratively and in partnership with the interprofessional care team

- Facilitating individual and group treatment

- Providing crisis intervention, patient and family education and health promotion activities from a psychosocial rehabilitation (PSR) perspective

- Participating in quality improvement activities and research

- Communicating and collaborating with members of the health care team about clients' care


YOUR BACKGROUND INCLUDES:
- Graduation from an approved School of Nursing

- Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse and/or Registered Psychiatric Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nursing Professionals (BCCNP)

- One (1) year recent related mental health experience in an acute, tertiary or community setting

- May require completion of substance use certificate program

- May require Valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License and access to a vehicle

This role is a relief full-time position located at SMH - Timber Creek in Surrey, BC. Surrey is one of Canada’s fastest growing cities and its land mass makes it the largest city in the province, equal to the size of Vancouver, Richmond and Burnaby combined. Known as the City of Parks, Surrey has over 6,000 acres of parkland and 15 golf courses and driving ranges. As of May 15, 2020 in order to mitigate the risk of the transmission of Covid 19 among persons in our care, patients, residents and also staff in our long term care facilities, an order under the Public Health Act was enacted to limit movement of staff between long term care facilities. While this order is in place staff will be limited to employment in only one (1) long term care facility. This vacancy is located at a long term care facility and will be pursuant to this order.
