Specialty Family Practitioner/General Practitioner

Subspecialty Hospitalist

Role and Facility Information

Are you a hospitalist who would enjoy life in the South Okanagan?

The Community Inpatient Service (CIS) at Penticton Regional Hospital might be just what you're looking for.

The service is staffed 8 hours daily, 7 days per week, by two physicians: one from 7am to 3pm, the other from 9am to 5pm.

We now need to add a 3rd line. Shifts will likely be 4 hours per day October-November, with 8 hour shifts available thereafter.

The service is dedicated to the care of unattached inpatients - those without a family physician in the local community. Assigned inpatients are cared for by their own family doctor - or by a specialist.

Whether you want to try us out for a little while - or make your home here - we'd love to hear from you!

MUST have a Family Practice licence or be actively in the process of obtaining one as we bill family practice fee codes.
MUST have or be eligible for privileges at Penticton Regional Hospital.

If desired, the Division of Family Practice will help to find opportunities in our local communities to maintain your FP licence without having to travel – providing locum coverage for your family practice colleagues, walk-in clinics, MHSU centre, and other areas that speak to your passion.

Remuneration:
• $159.45 per hour

(Travel and accommodation expenses are the responsibility of the physician)
