Role and Facility Information

Under the direction of the Team Leader, Mental Health Specialty Teams, working with members of a multi-disciplinary mental health care team, provides clinical services to persons with developmental disabilities and mental health issues and/or challenging behaviour. This role includes assessment, crisis intervention and follow-up services to clients and identified supports as required. The position also functions as a consultant/educator to the support system that cares for individuals with developmental disabilities and mental health issues which includes families, care staff, community agencies, and family physicians and contributes to the development of programs and services for this client population.


egistration with BC College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing RN or RPN registrant.
- Two (2) years experience in mental health/developmental disabilities field.
- Experience in field of Developmental Disabilities preferred.

Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to apply clinical and critical thinking expertise.
- Experience in the delivery of education programs.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to recognize and intervene appropriately in a psychiatric emergency situation.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Physical ability to perform duties of the position.
- Ability to use an electronic file system.
- Travel is a requirement: use of own vehicle, business insurance and valid Driver’s license is required.
