Role and Facility Information

The Division of Plastic Surgery in conjunction with Vancouver Coastal Health and Providence Health in Vancouver is accepting applications for a full-time permanent Plastic Surgery position with sub-specialization in hand, wrist and microsurgery. This is a hospital based position, and the successful applicant will be expected to cover a full complement of general plastic surgery call, as well as contribute expertise for major reconstructive services for oncologic and trauma patients including sarcoma surgery, spine surgery, general surgery, orthopedics and gynecology. In addition to elective operative time this position includes a regular allocation of plastic surgery protected trauma time as well as approximately 1 week per month of dedicated in hospital reconstructive commitment. The hospital services, together with the Division of Plastic Surgery and the University of British Columbia Department of Surgery are involved in undergraduate, post-graduate and continuing medical education programs.

Available resources include access to the main Operating Room, Minor Treatment Room, and a hospital based hand clinic.

Applicants must be certified in Plastic Surgery by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons (Canada), and be eligible for licensure by the BC College of Physicians and Surgeons. Applicants should have fellowship training in hand and microsurgery. An advanced degree would also be an asset.

The successful applicant will be recommended for a Clinical Faculty Position in the University of British Columbia Department of Surgery and will be expected to be involved in clinical teaching and research.
