Practice Details:

The 5 general surgeons of Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital, Trail BC are looking for a 6th general surgeon to complement our service. We provide regional surgical care to approximately 80,000 people of the West Kootenay Boundary. The 6th surgeon will strengthen the program as we share the clinical responsibilities and continue to support our outreach service to surrounding communities.

This is a collegial working environment with dedicated medical staff and a robust hospitalist service to assist with the perioperative and medical care of patients. There is a nice balance of opportunity between office, endoscopy and operating room procedures, with 2 OR and 2 endoscopy days available at KBRH per month. There is a requirement to perform endoscopic procedures, while ability to perform or learn pacemaker competency and peritoneal dialysis (PD) catheter and permacath insertion for our renal patients would be an asset. There is also an optional teaching component with 3rd year medical students.
