Role and Facility Information

We are seeking a Family Physician with emergency room and GPA skills to complement our existing team of physicians at our full service rural hospital in Lillooet. In a smaller supportive site such as our hospital, you will provide GP Anesthesia with the support of a GP Surgeon and another GP Anesthetist. The GP Anesthesia call is after hours all days, but availability is flexible and split between another GP Anesthetist. ER work is a requirement as a part of a 24/7 group call system and regular GP clinic work is available. Our site is an R2 Family Practice teaching site. This position will be available by September 2020 but an earlier start date could be negotiated. In this position you will have an opportunity to help the surgical program grow within the province wide Rural Surgical and Obstetrical networks initiative.

In addition to the provincial Rural Practice Program incentives noted below, General Practitioners are entitled to 38 days rural locum coverage for vacation coverage. If you cover some ER shifts, there are additional funds from a Rural Emergency Enhancement fund.
