Role and Facility Information

We are seeking an Occupational Therapist at Royal Inland Hospital where the opportunity is with the Acute Mental Health Program.

Royal Inland Hospital (RIH) is a tertiary referral hospital located in Kamloops, BC, that offers high-level, specialty medical care including core physician specialties, 24 emergency and trauma services, ambulatory and outpatient clinics, and diagnostic services. Specialty services include ambulatory psychiatry, elderly mental health, clinical nutrition, and lung health.

This is a permanent, part-time opportunity (34.5 hours per week). Days of work are Monday to Friday with weekends and statutory holidays off. This position is eligible for our comprehensive benefits plan that includes coverage for basic Medical Services, Dental Services, and Extended Health. Relocation Allowance package maybe be offered with position.

The Occupational Therapist works independently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary rehabilitation team providing inpatient occupational therapy services including assessment, treatment planning and implementation, program planning, consultation, equipment prescription and education of patients and/or their caregivers to promote functional independence and enable the client to achieve and maintain optimal health outcomes. The Occupational Therapist provides work direction to the rehabilitation assistants working with the rehabilitation team in regards to transfer of function.
