Specialty Occupational Therapist

Role and Facility Information

In this role the Occupational Therapist functions within a team-based primary care model at the community health service level provided through a mix of team-based patient medical homes to better address the social determinants of health based on communities social-health care needs. A full range of health care services are delivered by Family Physicians and Nurse Practitioners supported by Nurses and Allied Health Professionals. The Primary Care Team structure is designed to be holistic, person-centred, culturally safe and responsive to individuals’ needs where providers work to an optimized scope of practice.

Trail’s Primary Care Network is seeking to hire an Occupational Therapist whose primary goals will be assisting clients in 1) Staying healthy, 2) Getting better, 3) Living with illness and disability, and 4) Optimizing end of life.

The Occupational Therapist will be based within the Columbia Family Medical Clinic and will be supporting two additional family medical clinics within the City of Trail. Local travel is a requirement to move from one site to another with occasional commutes outside of Trail. Access to an IH vehicle is available; however, a personal vehicle maybe required.

This is a permanent, full time position eligible for a comprehensive benefits plan that includes coverage for basic Medical Services, Dental Services, and Extended Health. Days of work are Mondays to Fridays 08:30 to 16:30 hours. Hourly rate of pay is $33.83 to $42.19 per hour; to be determined with the successful candidate.
