Role and Facility Information

Providence Health Care invites applications for an Academic Cornea Specialist. The successful candidate will be required to run a weekly half-day Resident Teaching Clinic at St. Paul’s Hospital (SPH), and to provide a leadership role in Resident Teaching in the operating room at Mount Saint Joseph Hospital (MSJ). The primary practice location will be Vancouver (minimum 4 days/week), with a focus on clinical research and teaching.

The successful candidate will be eligible for a Clinical Faculty Appointment in the Department of Ophthalmology & Visual Sciences, in the Faculty of Medicine, at the University of British Columbia and will be appointed to the medical staff at SPH and MSJ in the Department of Ophthalmology.

Candidates must hold or be eligible for certification by the Royal College of Physicians & Surgeons of Canada in Ophthalmology, and be eligible for licensing or licensed in good standing in British Columbia. The successful candidate will have a minimum 1 year fellowship in Cornea and External Diseases and 5 years practice experience at the attending staff level. PHC seeks a candidate with a proven track record of publication in peer reviewed journals. Evidence of excellence in the clinical training of Residents and Fellows is required.
