Role and Facility Information

Northern Health is seeking a Plastic Surgeon to join the surgical team in Terrace. If you're looking for an opportunity to develop your career in one of the most beautiful areas of British Columbia, we'd like to hear from you!

The selected candidate will provide service to the Northwest region out of the Mills Memorial Hospital, a teaching site for UBC Medicine. Outreach work to surrounding communities may be explored. The plastic surgeon working in the Northwest will have significant tertiary support with a robust range of specialists on-site, will have more than adequate OR time and will have freedom to develop a plastic surgical program for almost 80,000 people.

Terrace hosts the IBCC (Integrated Breast Cancer Clinic) and the NW Breast Surgical Program. The opportunities for early and late reconstruction breast surgery will be an interesting and important focus as all breast surgeries in the NW are concentrated in Terrace.

Construction of the $500 million new Mills Memorial in Terrace is commencing in 2020 and the implications for surgical service delivery in the region is tremendous.

The retention of our specialists in the NW is tremendous; which speaks to the work-life balance and professional satisfaction which is a hallmark of our NW community of services.
