Role and Facility Information

The Vancouver Island Health Authority (Island Health) Department of Surgical Services is seeking a comprehensive ophthalmologist with subspecialty training in glaucoma to join the Division of Ophthalmology to provide ophthalmology services to the community and subspecialist services to the region.

Eligible applicants hold Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada certification in Ophthalmology and are eligible for full licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of B.C.

Through the Eye Clinic at Royal Jubilee Hospital the successful candidate would have access to a fluorescein angiography unit, ophthalmic ultrasound, diode and YAG lasers and a fully equipped treatment room for minor surgical procedures. The successful candidate will also have surgical time in clinic 6 for glaucoma, cataract and other eye surgery.

Full participation on the on call schedule is an expectation of this position.
