Role and Facility Information

The Vancouver Island Health Authority (VIHA) Division of Hematology/Oncology in Victoria has an opportunity for a Hematologist to join our dynamic team of hematologists and health professionals.

The successful candidate will provide inpatient and outpatient consultative service, longitudinal care, engage in quality improvement initiatives in hematology, and work in collaboration with specialists including hematopathologists, oncologists and family physicians.

The full spectrum of practice is available for suitable candidates to tailor to their interest, including the possibility of malignant hematology at BC Cancer – Victoria, and/or fee-for-service benign hematology, including a thriving thrombosis practice.

The Island Health Division provides services to a 350,000 direct referral population and a referral population of 750,000.

Academic appointments and support are delivered through the Division of Hematology, Department of Medicine, University of British Columbia (UBC). This position includes clinical teaching of undergraduate and postgraduate learners.
