The BC Cancer – Victoria Radiation Oncology Department has a complement of 15 FTE Radiation Oncologists and one General Practitioner in Oncology, working within a provincial Radiation Therapy program. Victoria is the 2nd biggest of the 6 provincial centres delivering radiotherapy in BC and has 6 linear accelerators, an orthovoltage unit, and 2 large bore multi-slice CT simulators.
We offer a full gamut of techniques to patients from Vancouver Island, including prostate and gyne brachytherapy, VMAT, and brain and body stereotactic treatments. BC Cancer has a well-developed system of provincial tumor groups, supported by collegiality and ready access to videoconferencing between centres that has placed BC Cancer teams at the forefront of innovation and outcomes evaluation in many areas.

The successful applicant will be expected to deliver excellent patient care and be involved in teaching of medical students and residents.

It operates six regional cancer centres in Surrey, Kelowna, Vancouver, Victoria, Abbotsford and Prince George, along with two research centres that conduct research into the causes and cures for cancer.
