Role and Facility Information

Working independently and participating as a member of a multidisciplinary health care team, the Primary Care Nurse is responsible for direct patient/client care at Port Alice Health Centre, and delivers health promotion programs to individuals and groups in a variety of settings in the designated rural area. Nurses may be required to be on call and provide after-hours care for EOL patients.



Registration with BC College of Nursing Professionals as a practicing RN registrant. Three (3) years' recent related experience; knowledge of available programs and services, their interrelationships, and their function in delivering care in the community; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Basic Life Support, Level C certificate.

Valid BC drivers license


Apply nursing process as required and described in BCCNP Standards of Nursing Practice.

Demonstrate clinical competence.

Work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team, with other staff, and with patients/clients and their caregivers/families.

Demonstrate conflict resolution, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
