Here’s what our Psychiatrists have to say:

“I have been working as a psychiatrist in Cranbrook, BC, since Nov.2011. I have been the happiest I have ever been in my life, which is a combination of being able to work, based on my own beliefs and principles (most of the time), good pay and very good opportunities for biking and hiking. Rail To Trail, which is a 28 km paved biking trail between Cranbrook & Kimberley, takes away my stress, puts me in contact with nature and I listen to my audiobooks. It is perfect! There are numerous hiking opportunities, some very near to Cranbrook. There are occasional challenges and stresses, but as the HOD, I will be with you & support you. Come and join us and enrich your life!” ~ Dr Khosroshahy

“I have been living and working in Cranbrook after immigrating from Ireland with my family. We quickly integrated into the community and have loved it ever since. The school system and variety of sporting/extracurricular activities were of tremendous benefit in getting my children settled, my wife was able to get into her profession and I have been enjoying a good working relationship with most of my professional colleagues, thus providing a sense of belonging. Intriguing and attractive to us is the semi-urban setting of Cranbrook, its serene and beautiful environment and the presence of some heritage sites (e.g. Fort Steele) within the community. There are varieties of winter and summer activities, I mostly enjoy soccer, while my children engage broader varieties of activities including soccer, skating, swimming, skiing and camping. It is definitely a good place to raise young kids.

Cranbrook is 3-5 hours’ drive from some major Canadian (Calgary, Lethbridge, Kelowna,) and American (Kalispell and Spokane) cities, thus giving us regular weekend breaks. We have hosted several visitors, over the years, most of who were blown away by the beauty of the surrounding mountains. Finally the remuneration had been good and I will definitely recommend Cranbrook as a place to practice. ~ Dr Shope
