Role and Facility Information

We are looking for a hospitalist to work with a group of congenial physicians at Richmond Hospital. Our community hospital is well supported by other specialist colleagues. It is a great place to work for new or recent grads with our interest in teaching.

Richmond Hospital is a fully accredited and equipped community hospital with 210 acute beds serving Vancouver International Airport, BC Ferries and a growing community of 215,000. It is a teaching hospital affiliated with the University of British Columbia and has a Level 3 trauma centre classification in its Emergency Department. In March 2018, Premier Horgan announced a business plan for a new acute care tower which "will modernize Richmond Hospital for the coming decades and bring quality public health care to people who live and work here".

Richmond a culturally diverse and geographically unique community centrally located on Canada's West Coast, in Metro Vancouver. The City is 20 minutes from Downtown Vancouver, 25 minutes from the US border and it is the location of Metro Vancouver's international airport.

A recent venue City for the 2010 Winter Games, Richmond has been experiencing growth and change with remarkable speed, transforming from a rural, local community to an international city with a balance of urban, suburban family, and rural areas. The continuing development of the City's downtown core and waterfront areas, and the recently completed construction of the Canada Line rapid transit system as well as the legacy of the Richmond Olympic Oval ensures that Richmond's transformation is ongoing. Richmond also has a colourful history which is celebrated at museums and several public heritage sites some of which are of national importance. The city enjoys a temperate west coast climate and is known for its quality parks, leisure facilities and recreational services. Cultural facilities include libraries, a performing arts theatre, art gallery, art centre and museums.
