Role and Facility Information

Island Health is seeking temporary full-time Registered Nurses for our medical and surgical relief pools in Victoria, BC.

As a Registered Nurse, you will plan and provide direct nursing care to patients in a variety of medical or surgical areas as assigned in accordance with unit/program philosophies, competency guidelines, policies and the BCCNP Standards for Nursing Practice in British Columbia.


You are a graduate from an approved nursing Program with current practicing membership with the British Columbia College of Nursing Professionals (BCCNP) and have 2 years of medical or surgical nursing experience preferably including chemotherapy, administration, pain management, oncology, respiratory and/or gastro-enterology. An equivalent combination of education, training and experience will be considered.

Skills & Abilities

• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing and organize assigned workload and set priorities.

• The capacity to deal effectively with a variety of internal and external contacts including co-workers, physicians, community agencies' representatives, patients, and families.

• Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
