Community Living British Columbia [CLBC] is a crown corporation responsible for arranging supports and services to individuals with developmental disabilities and their families. CLBC staff strives to live the corporate vision of ‘Lives filled with possibilities in welcoming communities.’

We are a designated mental health facility serving clients with intellectual disabilities and concurrent psychiatric, psychological and or behavioural issues. We provide short-term assessment and treatment to support client community care needs and quality of life.

The Role:
As the Psychiatric Nurse Liaison at CLBC, you will work collaboratively with an inter-professional care team in the provision of person-centred and recovery-oriented care.

Duties include:
• intake assessment and scheduling,
• community service planning
• input into the care of psychiatric and concurrent disordered clients at PAC.

In conjunction with the PAC Social Worker and other PAC clinicians, you will be an important facilitator of communication and education with families and community care providers. You will assist with ensuring effective client flow for assessed patients through collaboration with families and community and emergency service providers. Additionally, you will work as part of an outreach team completing assessments and treatment in community or home settings.

Qualifications:
Current practising registration with the BC College of Nursing Professionals (BCCNP). Bachelor’s degree in Nursing plus 3 years of recent related clinical experience in the designated clinical area, including 1 year of education and/or leadership experience, OR an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Travel:
Required throughout the Province to complete client assessments. Driving in winter conditions, as needed. Use of own vehicle on expenses. Transportation arrangements must meet the operational requirements of CLBC.

This is a great opportunity if you are looking for work-life balance, the position generally works standard office hours (Monday to Friday) and currently has a flex-time or fortnight work schedule of 1 weekday off every 2 weeks.

Successful applicants are subject to a Criminal Record Check (Criminal Records Review Act) and are required to provide a clean Driver’s Abstract.

Location:
In late February 2019, we will be moving to Coquitlam on Lougheed Highway. This new facility was built to reinforce a home-like feel, welcoming character, and progressive practice in mental health care.
