Role and Facility Information

Anesthesiologist
We are seeking a full time Anesthesiologist physician to join our team at Abbotsford Regional Hospital and Cancer Centre. This vacancy arises due to planned increases in elective surgical volumes.

ARHCC opened in August 2008 and has 9 Operating Rooms plus 1 OR in the Cancer Agency. Our group includes 11 Anesthesiologists. We cover most surgeries that you would expect of a Regional Hospital: General Surgery, a very busy Obstetrics service (about 2700 births per year), Gynecology, Orthopedics, Plastic Surgery, ENT, Vascular and dental. We do not do Cardiac, Thoracic or Neurosurgery.

We run 6-7 OR's on weekdays, 5 ORs until 1500, and 1 OR until 1700. We also run 1 out-of-OR position each day for a variety of tasks: Consults, Acute Pain Service, ECT, Cardioversions and Emergency calls. We also provide anesthesia services two days per week to a secondary OR in the Cancer Agency for Brachytherapy (Prostate and Cervix).

Abbotsford Regional Hospital & Cancer Centre is located in the beautiful Fraser Valley approximately 60 minutes from downtown Vancouver.

The successful candidate will share an on-call rotation. Payment is fee for service. The anticipated start date is September 2018.

Applicants must be eligible for FRCPC certification (Anesthesiology) and be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of B.C. All qualified candidates are encouraged to apply; however, Canadian Citizens and permanent residents will be given priority.
