Full Time Radiation Oncologist

BC Cancer - Victoria, BC

BC Cancer – Victoria is a medium-sized, clinical and academic cancer centre, servicing the whole of Vancouver Island. We are seeking a full-time staff radiation oncologist to join our seventeen Radiation Oncologists and one General Practitioner in Oncology, working within the provincial Radiation Therapy program at BC Cancer.

BC-Cancer-Victoria has 6 Varian Truebeam linear accelerators, one with high resolution multileaf collimation and a 6 degrees of freedom couch, an orthovoltage unit, and 2 CT simulators. A CT-PET will be operational at our centre within the next year. We have well-established programs providing prostate and gynecologic brachytherapy. Our stereotactic program is growing, with well-established practices in lung and CNS, and growing programs in other sites.

BC Cancer-Victoria has an active academic program; the successful applicant will be expected to deliver excellent patient care and be involved in teaching of medical students and residents, research and innovation. Experience and interest in stereotactic radiotherapy is highly desirable. The successful applicant will have a clinical appointment at UBC and will have hospital privileges through our partner health authority at the Royal Jubilee Hospital.

Victoria, “The City of Gardens”, is one of Canada’s most beautiful cities and offers the country’s most temperate year-round climate, with “Big city” amenities in a smaller city setting. Vancouver Island is known for its spectacular Pacific Ocean beaches, ski hills, sailing, hiking and fishing.
