BC Cancer is committed to reducing the incidence of cancer, reducing the mortality from cancer, and improving the quality of life of those living with cancer. BC Cancer provides a comprehensive cancer control program for the people of British Columbia in partnership with regional health authorities to deliver a range of cancer services, which include prevention, screening and early detection, diagnosis and treatment, research, education, supportive care, rehabilitation and palliative care. It operates six regional cancer centres in Surrey, Kelowna, Vancouver, Victoria, Abbotsford and Prince George, along with two research centres that conduct research into the causes and cures for cancer.

BC Cancer - Vancouver is the largest of 6 treatment centres within BC Cancer and works in close collaboration with the BC Cancer Research Centre (BCCRC) and Vancouver General Hospital, both of which are in close proximity. BC Cancer-Vancouver is part of a Provincial Radiotherapy program and has a current staff of 25 radiation oncologists. The facility has 10 linear accelerators (including a VERO unit) a cobalt unit, 2 CT simulators, diagnostic and functional imaging departments, a pathology department, an operating theater, a brachytherapy suite and an in-patient unit.

BC Cancer – Vancouver is an academic teaching center, affiliated with the University of British Columbia, with 8 radiation oncology residents and 3 clinical fellows. The successful applicant would have a clinical appointment at UBC and participate in teaching of Residents and Medical Students.

We are seeking a full time 1.0 FTE Radiation Oncologist to join our staff. Ability to work in CNS and SABR sites would be an asset but, in general, clinical work will depend on the needs of the department and the clinical expertise/skill set of appropriate candidates. We have an active research program and participation in research is desired.
