Role and Facility Information

Mood Disorders Services, Department of Psychiatry, Island Health, South Island, is looking for a full time Psychiatrist to join our team.

Mood Disorders Services offers outpatient assessment and treatment of adult patients with mood disorders (major depression or bipolar disorder), particularly to those who have diagnostic issues/problems, poor responses to treatment, and/or complex management issues. We offer a whole range of treatments including medication management, case management, and other biological intervention such as ECT. It is a teaching site for both medical students and Psychiatry residents. There is a potential for clinical research as well.

The successful candidate will hold an Independent License with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia and will be a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons. Experience working in a team environment, with supervision of students/residents, would be preferable. Clinical and research experience in mood disorders would definitely be an asset.
