Role and Facility Information

The Island Health Division of Urology has an opportunity for a Urologic Oncologist to join a group of five Urologists based in Victoria.

Island Health provides health care to more than 765,000 people across Vancouver Island. Surgical services are centered at the two Victoria tertiary hospitals. The successful candidate will hold Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada Urology qualifications and have a post graduate fellowship or strong skills in oncology. Full licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of B.C is required.

This position will comprise of 0.8 FTE urologic oncology with an expectation the successful candidate will pursue research opportunities.

The successful candidate will utilize the multidisciplinary model for the care of their patients. This position will also require a clinical interest in bladder cancer with the ability to perform cystectomy and urinary diversions.

The successful candidate will be required to establish a community outpatient practice and participate equitably in the Division of Urology paid on-call roto.

Through the UBC Island Medical Program there is the opportunity for academic affiliation and participation in teaching of medical students and residents.
