Medical Assistance in Dying Practitioner
Fraser Health is recruiting physicians for the role of MAiD prescriber/provider. The physicians will be working closely with the MAID Care Coordination Centre (MCCC) and the leadership team of the program to ensure high quality, timely assessment and delivery of service to patients requesting MAID. Assessments will take place in all communities of Fraser Health and the physicians will be contacted by the MCCC for consultations in their community.
Most assessments and provisions of MAiD will take place in the community; patients homes, residential or assisted living facility or hospice units. Some cases will take place in hospital settings if appropriate. All hospitals in Fraser Health are prepared to provide nursing and social work support to the physician, patients and their families.
Successful candidates will be fully licensed physicians. Education will be provided and prior experience in MAiD service delivery would be an asset but not required.
