We have recently opened our new patient care tower which adds a total of 231,000 square feet of space to this facility. Programs and services have been consolidated and modernized to improve health service delivery and include expanded Emergency and Ambulatory Care departments, new Intensive Care and Coronary Care units, new larger Operating Rooms, and a new Women’s and Children’s Health Services department to name a few.

The brand new Peri-Operative Services department includes five new integrated OR theatres. The OR’s are supported by a brand new Pre-Surgical Screening area, Surgical Day Care area, 10 monitored Recovery Bays and a Medical Device Reprocessing area. An additional 2 OR’s are shelled in for future capacity. The case cart system is now in place and RNs work 8-hour shifts Monday through Friday with call on weekends.

Qualifications

Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration with the College of Registered Nurses of British Columbia (CRNBC).

Advanced preparation in the clinical specialty of perioperative nursing and one year recent related clinical experience in the assigned practice environment on an operating room similar in size and scope to the facility or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
