Role and Facility Information

Northern Health is seeking family practitioners for locum coverage in Terrace, BC. Locums will join a group practice with 14 GPs. The current on-call commitment for this position is 1:6 and is compensated through the Medical On-Call Availability Program.

During your locum you can enjoy amazing community amenities such as hiking, Alpine and Nordic skiing, golfing, fishing in glacier fed rivers, easy access to the Pacific Ocean, art galleries, two gorgeous lakes and farmers’ markets – all in the pristine surroundings of Northwest British Columbia.

The economic activity in Terrace is focused on serving the mining, logging and natural gas industries. Terrace is also a regional convention center because of its location and excellent services. The population is approximately 19,000, with a catchment area of 31,000. There are four secondary schools, nine elementary schools, Northwest Community College campus and a UNBC campus. Terrace has a busy airport, with seven out-bound flights per day.

Terrace is home to Mills Memorial Hospital, a fully accredited, 44 bed, acute care facility. Patient visits to the busy ER in Terrace are varied and reflects the population and activities in the area. Terrace is serviced by

Terrace
