Role and Facility Information

BC Children's Hospital (BCCH) cares for the province's most acutely ill or injured children and youth, provides developmental and rehabilitation services to children and youth throughout BC, and offers a broad range of health services. Sunny Hill Health Centre for Children (SHHC), a leading provincial facility offering specialized services to children and youth with developmental disabilities from birth to age 19, works collaboratively with BCCH. SHHC focuses on the child and their family while supporting health care professionals in their community. BCCH also operates a wide number of specialized health programs, is a leading acute care teaching facility, and conducts research to advance health and care through the BC Children’s Hospital Research Institute and in partnership with the University of British Columbia.

The BCCH site is currently undergoing a significant upgrade with the construction of the Teck Acute Care Centre that will house all inpatient, emergency and procedural services for BCCH.

Regular Full Time Position

BC Children’s Hospital (BCCH) is seeking a Full-Time Pediatric Neuroradiologist to join the Department of Radiology.

The successful candidate will join a team of 13 pediatric and interventional radiologists delivering tertiary care imaging services to the BC Children's Hospital, and wider consulting services to the Province of British Columbia. The Department of Radiology at BC Children's Hospital performs 95,000 exams annually. As of November 2017, the radiology department will be sited in the new 231 bed Teck Acute Care Centre and will be equipped with state of the art 3T and 1.5 T MRI, CT, US, Nuclear Medicine, fluoroscopy and radiography systems. A six room procedure suite will be equipped with state of the art CT and angiography systems and shared by interventionalists, surgeons and endoscopists.

Teaching and clinical research are integral parts of the role. The BCCH Department of Radiology is affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine, University of British Columbia and offers both residency and fellowship training in Pediatric Radiology. The successful candidate will be recommended for clinical faculty appointment to the University of British Columbia. Academic rank, dependent on qualifications, will be recommended by the Department of Radiology of the University of British Columbia’s Faculty of Medicine. Candidates should demonstrate strong communication skills and aspire to advance academic radiology.
