RIH is a tertiary referral hospital and our Emergency department has 18 beds, 2 trauma bays, a clinical decision area, streaming area, minor treatment area, and an ambulatory care area. We treat 51,000 patient per year and our nursing staff work 12 hour shifts. We have a High Acuity Response Team based in the Emergency department that works directly with the Ambulance Services to transport patients from lower acuity sites to our hospital.

Qualifications

Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration with the College of Registered Nurses of British Columbia (CRNBC).

Advanced preparation in an Emergency clinical specialty or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) within 3 years.
