CLBC staff strives to adhere to the corporate vision of 'Lives filled with possibility in welcoming communities.' More than just a job, CLBC is about compassion, commitment, contribution, collaboration and community.

The Provincial Assessment centre, located in Burnaby, BC, provides tertiary services for youth and adults, ages 14-65, with intellectual disability and complex psychiatric and behavioural issues. The program offers 10 short-stay assessment and treatment beds with length of stay of up to 3 months. Most clients to the program are admitted involuntarily.

This role is permanent, part-time: approximately 2-3 days per week.

The capacity to function as leader and collaborator with nurses, social workers, psychologists, and other allied health staff is essential. Ideally you have experience in the assessment and treatment of youth and adults with intellectual disabilities and psychiatric needs.

Each individual admitted to PAC receives a complete psychiatric and medical evaluation based on direct assessment investigation and a working diagnostic formulation whilst also drawing on the expertise of psychology, OT, nurses, mental health support workers and other specialized clinicians.

An ideal candidate will have compassion for and experience working with clients with intellectual disabilities, neurodevelopmental issues, and interest in engaging in research and program development.
