Role and Facility Information

BC Children's Hospital (BCCH) cares for the province's most acutely ill or injured children and youth, provides developmental and rehabilitation services to children and youth throughout BC, and offers a broad range of health services. BCCH also operates a wide number of specialized health programs, is a leading acute care teaching facility, and conducts research to advance health and care through the BC Research Institute for Children's & Women's Health and in partnership with the University of British Columbia.

The BC Children’s Hospital is an agency of the Provincial Health Services Authority (PHSA), which plans, manages and evaluates selected specialty and province-wide health care services across BC.

Registered Nurse - Nursing Resource Team

As a member of the Nursing Resource Team you will be given the opportunity to build on your knowledge of acute and chronic disease management for children and youth. Throughout the pathway of an NRT’s career, there will be opportunities to pursue internships in a variety of programs including: Intensive Care Unit, Emergency Department, Renal, Neurology, Surgical, Oncology and more.

This is an ever-expanding program, and by joining this team you will take advantage of educational and skill upgrading, short and/or long-term relief coverage, creative scheduling options, and the ability to experience a diverse career pathway. If you are an RN eligible for licensing with College of Registered Nurses of British Columbia (CRNBC) and looking for the opportunity to obtain a specialty career in pediatrics then this is the opportunity you have been waiting for. Out of province applicants must have registeration in place with CRNBC prior to commencement of employment.

In 2017, the new Teck Acute Care Centre at BC Children's Hospital will be opening. We will be expanding our "state of the art" Operating Room, Emergency Room, PICU, Medical & Surgical Inpatient Units and Oncology/Hematology/Bone Marrow Transplant Program.
