Island Health is looking for regular full-time Ultrasound Technologists to join our Medical Imaging Department in Duncan.
In this role, you will be a member of a multidisciplinary health care team that provides client-centred care. You will perform general ultrasound examinations. Duties include receiving and completing requisitions, forms and reports; preparing and monitoring supplies and equipment; patient monitoring; and operating ultrasound equipment, including preparing and presenting patient data to radiologists.
Graduation from an approved Ultrasound Technologist Diploma program. Canadian Association of Registered Diagnostic Ultrasound Professionals (CARDUP) and/or the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) certification credentials. Eligible for registration for the Canadian Society of Diagnostic Medical Ultrasonographers (CSDMS).
Your background demonstrates that you are well organized; have excellent problem solving skills; strong communications skills and can work independently while being part of a multi-disciplinary health care team.
Ideally you have at least 1 year recent, related experience in an acute health care setting. (An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered).
