Role and Facility Information

Fraser Health Authority is seeking to add a consulting Dermatologist to join the existing group of 3 Dermatologists and provide enhanced specialist general Dermatology care to the communities of Tri-Cities (Port Moody, Coquitlam, & Port Coquitlam), Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows.

The first hospital is situated in Port Moody, one of the communities in the Tri-cities areas which is comprised of Port Moody, Coquitlam, and Port Coquitlam. With a population of nearly 225,000 in 2011 and a predicted ten-year growth rate of 26 percent, Coquitlam is the second fastest growing LHA in Fraser Health. This facility has a budgeted capacity of 138 acute care beds and 25 convalescent beds.

The second hospital is located in Maple Ridge local health area which is comprised of two major municipalities, the District of Maple Ridge in the east, and the City of Pitt Meadows in the west, along with a large, unincorporated and sparsely populated area. Pitt Meadows is the smaller of the two main communities, accounting for 18 percent (approximately 17,000) of the total population of about 96,000. This facility has a budgeted capacity of 140 acute care beds.

The Dermatologists would be providing mostly outpatient and private community services and would also be expected to provide consulting services to in patients at both hospitals. The Dermatologist would also be expected to obtain Clinical Faculty appointment with University of British Columbia and provide supervision, mentorship and teaching to Medical Trainees.


Compensation is fee for service.


The successful candidate must have full FRCPC certification and be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia.
