Role and Facility Information

The Department of Anesthesia at Lions Gate Hospital (LGH) – Coastal Community of Care (VCHA) – is an active clinical and academic affiliated department of 25 collaborative anesthesiologists. The department is seeking locum anesthesiologists.

Lions Gare Hospital is a level 3 Trauma Centre which provides a broad range of 24/7 anesthetic care for neurosurgery, general surgery, orthopaedics, urology, obstetrics, gynaecology, plastics, otolaryngology, ophthalmology and limited paediatrics. The department provides an acute pain service, weekday pre-anesthetic clinic and supports interventional radiology, palliative care, gastroenterology, cardiology and psychiatry. There is an active regional anesthesia component and academic tweaking of medical students, family practice anesthesiology and FRCPC Anesthesiology residents.

Candidates need to posses a strong foundation and experience in each of these areas.
