The physician will work as a part of a collaborative interdisciplinary team.

The clinical program models are person and family centered with a strength-based, trauma informed approach, using a harm reduction perspective.

The clinic: This is an Addictions outpatient clinic treating individuals with complex addictions including opiate addiction providing Opioid agonist treatment. The physician would be responsible for providing/monitoring addiction treatment.

The physician will be privileged in the Department of Family Practice with Associate privileges in the Department of Psychiatry. The physician will report to the Head and Medical Director, Department of Psychiatry, VCH-Richmond Mental Health and Substance Use. Must have a Medical Degree and be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia. A License to prescribe Methadone and Suboxone is required. Certification or eligibility for certification with the Canadian Society of Addiction Medicine (CSAM/ISAM) is desirable. Eligibility for a clinical faculty appointment with the University of British Columbia, Faculty of Medicine is ideal.

Candidates must meet credentialing requirements of Vancouver Coastal Health. Additionally, the candidate should have a demonstrated ability to work as a member of an interdisciplinary health team, a commitment to participate in new methods in health improvement and care delivery.

Also, the candidate might have opportunity to be part of a call roster (Optional) at Richmond Hospital.
