Role and Facility Information

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Vancouver General Hospital, is seeking applications for a Gynaecologic Oncologist in the Division of Gynaecologic Oncology, based at Vancouver Coastal Health. The successful applicant will also work as part of a clinical academic team providing Gynaecologic Oncology expertise and treatment to the Province of British Columbia.

The successful candidate will hold a Royal College Fellowship in Gynecologic Oncology or the equivalent. Evidence of research activity is desired. Preference will be given to a junior Gynecologic Oncologist (in the first 5 years of practice) who have a diversity of training experience and have demonstrated productivity. In addition, the successful candidate will have basic science research training and will intend to pursue a career as a surgeon-scientist.

Reporting through to the Head of Gynaecology at Vancouver General Hospital, to the Head of the Division of Gynaecologic Oncology, and to the Head of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at UBC.

It is expected that the successful candidate will apply for and hold a clinical faculty appointment in the Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology at the University of British Columbia. As a clinical faculty member, the successful candidate will be expected to involve learners in clinical activity, and participate in program development and student evaluation as well as research and knowledge dissemination.

Applicants must be eligible for registration with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia, be a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or equivalent and be eligible to hold a clinical faculty appointment at UBC.

The anticipated start date is Feb 2021.
