Specialty Family Practitioner/General Practitioner

Subspecialty General

Role and Facility Information

This clinic is a vibrant group family practice in the heart of Vancouver that is looking for a GP interested in taking over a panel in October 2018. This GP’s panel consists of about 1,500 patients – perfect for any physician who wishes to hit the ground running with a full panel! The panel is described as consisting of a mixed demographic, but with an emphasis on young families, women’s health, pediatrics, and mental health.

There are some complex and chronic disease patients, as well as refugee patients, and the clinic is open to the incoming physician adding additional patients to fill out the practice (ie more chronic disease) if desired. The physician looking for the panel takeover currently works 3 days/week, but there is opportunity to increase to 5 days a week. The GP sees about 25-30 patients per day and has 2 designated exam rooms. The clinic hours are Monday – Friday from 9-5, with Tuesday evenings and rotating Saturdays as well.

There are currently 10 GPs, with 6-7 working at any given time and 14 exam rooms. There is ample support staff available, including a nurse practitioner, billing support, and MOA support. They use the EMR system Oscar, there is free street parking in the area, and they are offering a 70/30 split with 100% on insurance forms, medico-legal reports, etc. There is no guaranteed minimum, however the incoming physician can expect to be very busy given the full patient load.

This position has the potential to be highly lucrative. This is an excellent opportunity for a new grad given the highly supportive group environment. Clinic physicians meet once a month for CME events. The clinic also offers different types of group medical visits and runs an Options for Sexual Health clinic on Thursday evenings.
